Glossier: The Beauty Brand Everyone Is Talking About

11:00 AM

Glossier, you know it, you recognize it. Youtubers gush over their latest products, and Instagramers do unboxing on their Insta Stories. It’s a brand made for millenials: online only, packaged in millennial pink pouches, and minimalist packaging, there’s a reason there’s a hype around the brand.

Glossier had been on my radar for years, but it took me a bit to bite the bullet and finally order a few of the brand’s cult beauty staples back in June. I can’t believe I waited so long to join the bandwagon. Glossier is everything I needed in my life and more. I can’t imagine my beauty routine without their products. In fact, I just ordered more of my favorites from them in bulk because I know I’m going to run out soon before writing this article. It’s a running joke between me and my friends that I’m obsessed with the brand. I love their marketing, their products, and everything they stand for. “You should be a Glossier rep” my friends tell me. (Trust me, I’m trying. Glossier, hook a girl up?). Anyways, here’s a list of all the Glossier products I’ve tried - some I’ve loved and some I’ll pass on. Let’s start with the good

Are you ready to join the hype? The link at the end of this post will automatically give you 10% off at the checkout if it’s your first Glossier order. I do get some credit on my account if you use this link - please help a broke Glossier addict out xx

BOY BROW - $16

This is Glossier’s top-selling product, a with good reason. I had never used a gel brow product before, and it’s a life changer. It takes less than 30-seconds for me to do my eyebrows, and they always look full, tamed, and natural. Goodbye are the days of penciling in! I have since attempted to use a different eyebrow gel product, but nothing can even compare to Boy Brow.

After seeing lots of my friends on Instagram gush over this product, I decided I had to try it. I never use blush, let alone cream blush, but I’m seriously obsessed with this product. I currently have Cloud Pain in dusk, and I rarely use it as a blush. When I’m in a hurry or just want a simple makeup look, I just dab some of this bad boy onto my lids, add some mascara and concealer, and call it a day. It blends easily into the skin, doesn’t crease or get cakey, and has seriously changed my routine. Dusk is a subtle coral color that looks great on the cheeks or the eyes. You only need to use a little at a time - I’ve had my same product since June and it’s currently March.

The perfect lipstick for when you want a just a hint of color. I have this sheer matte lipstick in zip and jam. Zip is reddish burnt orange, which makes me feel like Hollywood royalty, while jam is a berry shade. Arden Rose said that zip gave her the effect that she just made out with someone because it’s a nice subtle, muted red (who doesn’t want to give off that vibe?). These are easy to apply, can be as sheer or thick as you wish, and even look good mixed together! Just apply a bit of lip salve before, swipe this on, blot, and you’re good to go

Honey, let me tell you that this is my new favorite concealer. I’ve had dark circles my whole life (genetics, man) and this is the perfect consistency and color to easy any tiredness I may show. It’s easy to apply since it comes in a pot and you can apply to any spots or dark circles with your fingers. It works wonders at hiding any red spots because it’s effortless at blending into the skin. It’s light but mighty and never cakes. I rarely hear anyone talk about this product but it’s a real gem - trust me, I’ve tried at least 20 concealers from drugstores and high street stores.

Glossier You - $60

I told myself I wasn’t going to buy this product. I have my staple perfume that I love, but after trying a Glossier You sample from the New York store, I couldn’t stop thinking about this product. It smells different on everyone, hence the name. It’s a bit musky, which I love, and is a great foundation perfume if you want to layer another on top (I pair it with Elizabeth + James’ Nirvana Black or White). It is pricey so if you’re hesitant, get a sample when you’re checking out online and give it a whirl.

I’ve been an avid Burt’s Bees user for quite a while, but the Balm Dot Com in coconut is quickly becoming my favorite. Currently, the brand offers six flavors, but I loved coconut when I tried it at the New York store (probably because it reminds me of a Bounty bar). This keeps my lips hydrated, kissable, and smooth - what more could you ask for?

Priming Moisturizer - $22

Last year, I got hormonal acne around my mouth that wouldn’t go away for months, and acne cleansers and moisturizers only made it worse. I stopped using all my face washes, lotions and some makeup products, and I was doubtful about trying any moisturizer because I was worried the acne would come back. My face started to get dry a few months ago as it turned to winter, so I decided to try Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer. So far, I have no complaints. I haven’t noticed a difference in my skin either way. I apply it before bed and although I like it, I don’t think I’ll repurchase it again.

Super Glow Serum - $28

I had high hopes for this face serum. I thought it would make my skin look hydrated, dewey, and awake; honestly, I haven’t noticed a difference. I apply this at night before Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer. A lot of people are obsessed with this product so it could just be my skin type, but I’d pass on purchasing this again.

So there you have it, all of the Glossier products I’ve tried. Some I loved, some were ‘eh’ but overall this is my favorite beauty brand at the moment.
